There is hope! On Friday, a friend of mine who already has his fancy-pants graduate degree and then took his fancy-pants title to a job outside of academia, told me that as soon as grad school was over, his spelling and his English-language vocabulary improved. Whew. I was beginning to wonder if grad school was actually making me dumber.
