I'm at a Loss Too.

P.E.I. is confused about what language to use on their new marriage applications. The province's attorney general says:

We were consulting about whether or not we could just scratch out the words husband and wife, bride and groom, and maybe just put spouse and spouse. We're not even sure what words you'd use.

I'd like to suggest a quick google search for the provinces that allowed same-sex marriage before C-38 passed and then the fine folks yonder could look at the language other provinces use. I believe that the norm is "Partner 1" and "Partner 2." This language thing is tricky but it shouldn't be this tricky.
