So, Valentine's Day was a success! Well, dinner was, at least. We ended up skipping the morning alcohol session and went to the market instead, so that we'd have something with which to make a fabulous dinner. As soon as we got home, we poured some Bellinis (and were they ever worth waiting for!) and served the first course: 2 kinds of paté -- duck rillettes and wild boar and caribou with figs and port -- and some fabulous Québec raw-milk cheese. Then, the main attraction: a warm mussel salad, which was unbelievably good (thank you, Mario Batali). We had the leftovers for breakfast. -K.
