Call It What You Will, You're Still a Hater

A Liberal MP has left the party because he doesn't like the thought of gay people being treated like straight people.

Actually, he says it's because he doesn't like how the PM's Office is handling hearings. He says that the hearings haven't been full and fair. And I am at the point where I don't really give a rat's ass what people like O'Brien think because when it comes down to it, no matter how they dress up their objections, no matter what kind of sops they offer to the gay communtiy (Note to Stephen Harper: separate but equal is not equal), people like O'Brien are hateful little moralists who want everyone to be just like them. Homophobia is one the last two prejudices in which public figures can take refuge (the other would be misogyny) and it's time for people like O'Brien to realize that the sooner they get used to the idea of letting other people live their own lives, they'll be able to get on with their lives. And then I'll be able to get on with mine instead of defending it to every moralist thug jackass who comes along.
