Despite the fact that most Canadians don't want an election at the moment, the Tories (and the Bloc) seem hell-bent on bringing down the government.

I'm still wondering what Harper hopes to accomplish. It seems smarter to wait for the Gomery report and the vote on the same-sex marriage legislation because at the moment, all he has is his "I'm not Paul Martin" line, which doesn't seem to be that effective. Come next fall, there should be a report on Liberal corruption and if the same-sex legislation were to pass, there would also be a polarizing social issue around which to rally the troops.

I'm beginning to suspect that Harper is dumber than we suspect.
